Jeffrey Darcy, MSS, LCSW
Jeffrey Darcy joins the Rossi Wellness Center as our practice Psychotherapist. Jeff provides counseling, life coaching, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Jeff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and obtained his Master’s Degree at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work. He completed a rigorous second-year internship providing psychotherapy at Swarthmore College Psychological Services. Prior to that Jeff worked as an Environmental Engineer for the US EPA in San Francisco and taught Environmental Education in the Redwood Forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. He graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
For the past ten years Jeff has worked as a Clinical Social Worker at The Crefeld School (www.crefeld.org), where he counsels students and families, teaches sex education, liasons with psychiatrists and other professionals. Since 2007 Jeff has been supervising graduate students as a Field Instructor for Bryn Mawr and Penn. He opened up a private practice shortly after receiving his LCSW in 2006 where he sees adults ages 18-78 years old.
Jeff provides safe, evidence-based treatment for life issues, such as relationship concerns, anxiety, stress management, depression, loneliness, family difficulties, grief, loss, life transitions, career counseling, sexuality, body image, and personal growth. His integrated approach to healing recognizes the interdependence of body, mind, spirit, culture, and environment. He has previously served on the Boards of both the Pennsylvania Clinical Social Work Society (PSCSW) and the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work. He has taught yoga for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Jeff has also taught various workshops, including the 2007 LGBTQI Health Summit and guest lectures at the University of Pennsylvania, Haverford College, and Bryn Mawr.
