Restylane Dermal Filler Treatments In Philadelphia
Restylane®, Restylane Silk, Restylane-L®, Perlane®, and Perlane-L® are all members of the Restylane family of products. Each is a clear gel formulation of Hyaluronic Acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced Hyaluronic Acid, helping to instantly, visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds or add fullness to your lips (Restylane, Restylane Silk and Restylane-L only) in patients over 21. Restylane Silk is the first FDA approved product for lip enhancement.
What Is Restylane For?
The Restylane family can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines); the area just below the nose and above the upper lip; the corners of the mouth; and marionette lines—the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline.
What Is Restylane Silk For?
New Restylane Silk is designed for meticulously precise lip definition and line control for silkier, smoother lips. Lip tissue is different from skin of the rest of the face. The soft and sensuous tissue of the lips is constantly stressed by how we move our mouths; eating and drinking, and all the ways we express ourselves. The smooth gel of Restylane Silk allows the provider to bring artistry to subtle enhancement, allowing for a more natural appearance.
How Does Restylane Work?
As the human body ages, many naturally-occurring substances diminish or weaken over time. One such component, Hyaluronic acid (HA), serves as your skin’s natural moisturizer. HA is found throughout your face’s subdermal layer, filling the spaces between connective tissues and muscle fibers like a support system. It naturally binds with water, increasing fullness and smooth contours. With sun damage and time, your skin’s supply of HA is reduced, allowing wrinkles and fine lines to “set in” and definition to be lost.
Restylane is a dermal filler that simply replenishes your face’s existing supply of Hyaluronic acid. With more HA, your face is better able to retain moisture, lessening the appearance of wrinkles and regaining its former, aesthetically-pleasing fullness.
Perlane is also composed of Hyaluronic acid, but its HA gel particles are larger than those found in Restylane. This makes Perlane an appropriate choice for those wishing to diminish the appearance of severe wrinkles.
How Long Does Restylane Last?
In clinical studies Restylane has been shown to last up to 18 months in laugh lines with one follow-up treatment at 4.5 or nine months. Perlane has been shown to last up to 6 months.
What Side Effects Are Associated With Restylane?
Like all dermal fillers, Restylane treatments may result in mild swelling, redness, discomfort, bruising, or tenderness. These symptoms generally disappear within seven days.
