Radiesse

Radiesse Treatment In Philadelphia

As part of the natural aging process, the collagen in your face breaks down. Collagen forms a network of fibers to support the skin, giving your face volume, flexibility, and strength. But the loss of elasticity and volume results in wrinkles and facial lines that take away that youthfulness in your face.

At Rossi Wellness Center, we offer many solutions to the common aesthetic problems associated with aging. One of them is Radiesse.

What Is Radiesse?

The unique formulation of Radiesse volumizing filler stimulates collagenesis (the production of new collagen), which results in increased volume that may last a year or more in many patients.

The procedure involves injecting a compound of calcium hydroxyl apatite microspheres that are suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose gel (wow, that’s a big word).   The gel contains an organic compound of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, as well as glycerin and sterile water.  Thin connective tissue forms around the microspheres, which act as filler that remains permanently implanted at the site location.  What’s unique about Radiesse is that these microspheres act as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own collagen to grow.

Where Can Radiesse Help?

Radiesse is commonly used to reduce the appearance of facial imperfections, like:

  • Smile Lines
, or nasolabial folds, run from the side of nostrils down to the corner of your mouth.
  • Marionette Lines begin at the corners of your mouth and run downwards towards the chin.
  • Mouth Corners, or oral commissures, tend to droop downwards as we age. Over time, the deepening of oral commissures can make it seem like we are permanently unhappy, and even lead to the formation of marionette lines.
  • Pre-Jowls, or sulcus (which simply means “furrow”), appear on either side of the chin. Before becoming fully-formed jowls, volume loss in the surrounding areas can cause deep hollows along the sides of your face.
  • Chin Wrinkle, a line that appears directly below the lower lip.

How Long Will It Take?

The procedure can take 15-45 minutes depending upon the extent of treatment.  It may be performed with local anesthesia to reduce the slight discomfort common to all dermal filler procedures.  Results are fully evident within one week. You can return home within minutes after the procedure.  Radiesse can last one year or more in many patients.
